Micro-Rhubarbs

“That should be in the book” or, “I don’t remember that chapter” are periodically asked when I bring an old island tale into conversation.

“Endless”, I reply, “Up there with War & Peace were I to write all three decades worth of rhubarbs; I had to be selective”. But it did get me thinking, there are perhaps indeed a few I should have put down and the result was to come up with this compromise. Posting them on the Comet before dementia looses them forever, and as a sort of monthly chore to keep me out of mischief. So here we go, kicking off so to speak, with the first chapter…

The E-Team (as in Ex Pat), circa 1985, finally found in the dusty archives of our apotheki The team has at least nine nations in it (not including Pan who started playing for both sides when we were down by two digits). Spot then junior usual suspects Steffie far left hiding behind Lennie. Blake our mascot (Teresa Seabrook’s four year old son) just to the right of the match ball (propped up by a single malt beverage). Photo definitely taken before the game began as the lack of bloody appendages will attest. (see below, An ‘Almost’ Perfect Game)
